Gabriele Stötzer is regarded as a pioneering artistic activist and a leading figure in the avant-garde subculture of the GDR. For over five decades, this versatile artist, writer and performer has explored themes of justice, self-determination and gender. »das brennen der worte im mund« is the title of a collection of her lyrical prose. Together with Weimar’s Ensemble for Intuitive Music (EFIM), she creates artistic programmes that combine language, sound and performance. EFIM & Stötzer continue this project cycle in the unique setting of the historic Belvedere Orangery.
