»in darkness let me dwell«, performed on 4 September at 22:00, is an installation performance and horror musical centred around the split second before a doomed queen is fated to lose her head.

The performance arranges itself around this imminent act of violence, played out both by and onto the state, like chess pieces in a deterministic game with ambiguous morals. The players rehearse for the invention of witchcraft which could possibly achieve the goal of defeating the Sun, the missing arbiter or justice, but it is a rehearsal with a known outcome: all will inevitably succumb to the darkness.

Funeral doom, renaissance lute music, and drone music drive the players in and out of time, and the interplay of video and live performance pull them in-between life and the living dead. Failure is certain but there is a kind of emancipation in being freed of the head, in founding a state of headlessness, or: the devil is a great escape artist but sometimes they need our help.

Coal and copper could hardly be more different: while one is being phased out due to environmental concerns, the other is thriving. However, when the pit on which they both depend fills with water and magnificent birds land on the banks, nothing is as it seems. The musical »BÄM: Abandoned Places« sings of red lines and beautiful mountains. bauSTELLE, Jens Ausderwäsche and sh.itgirl3000 lead the swaying audience into the depths of their own sense of home, where they become thoroughly lost.
