Accessibility and Responsibility

We hope that many people will visit the Weimar Art Festival and feel comfortable and safe there—regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religion, social background, or disability.

We are constantly working to remove barriers. However, there are currently some events and venues that are not fully accessible to everyone.

Many events are accessible to people with limited mobility and feature accessible restrooms. On this page, you will also find detailed information about spatial conditions and potential barriers.

For events marked “Wheelchair-accessible Seating,” please register by calling +49 (0) 3643 – 755 334. Events marked “Wheelchair-accessible” do not require registration.

Selected events are translated into German Sign Language, provided with German and English subtitles, or are presented without spoken language.

On the event pages, you will find information on specific accessibility measures, as well as content-related notes and information on sensory stimuli.

We also provide selected content in easy language and, soon, in German Sign Language.

If you have any questions or would like to report barriers, please feel free to contact us at besuch@kunstfest-weimar.de. On-site, you can contact our team at any time if you need assistance.

Discriminatory or inappropriate behavior is incompatible with the values of the Kunstfest Weimar. At the same time, we recognize that such situations can still arise. Currently, there is no dedicated awareness team; however, we are working to establish appropriate structures in the future.
