For the first time since the Nike Wagner era, a world-renowned orchestra is playing at the KUNSTFEST WEIMAR. The symphony concert will include works by Richard Wagner and Ludwig van Beethoven. The soloist for the occasion will be KUNSTFEST ambassador Matthias Goerne, the world-famous baritone born in Weimar. The orchestra will be conducted by Manfred Honeck, one of the most sought-after conductors in the world. For more than a decade he has been the music director of the famous PITTSBURGH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. From 2007 to 2011, he was the general music director of the OPER STUTTGART.
