4 WHEEL DRIVE

They are highly sought after with their own projects, but in 2019 they have come together as a quartet: Swedish trombonist and singer Nils Landgren has been the leading authority in European jazz for more than 25 years. At the piano sits »the consummate piano master« (FAZ) Michael Wollny, who can »turn any music imaginable into an experience that takes your breath away« (SZ). A master of euphony as well as a soulful melodist on bass and cello is the Swede Lars Danielsson. Finally, on drums sits »Germany's coolest drummer« (ARD ttt) and Groovemaster #1: Wolfgang Haffner. Together these four great soloists and team players took a highly successful album and on stage together momentum... Then came the pandemic.

As an exclusive and currently unique revival, 4 WHEEL DRIVE is back on stage for KUNSTFEST WEIMAR - reloaded. Successful arrangements of the joint album will be heard, hits by Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Phil Collins or Sting. Just as new and own compositions of the four protagonists will stand well in the round dance of famous melodies. A unique event that promises a rousing and fast-paced concert evening!
