Hidden away on an exotic island, a weird scientist conducts experimental operations to create new creatures that are a mixture of humans and animals. His crowning achievement is intended to be an artificial human whose heart will be taken from a girl who has been kidnapped. But her former fiancé and husband get wind of what is going on. In the end everything culminates in the »now customary fiery finale « – to quote the press reviews of this early science fiction horror film from Berlin producers Corona-Film. »Otherwise the film is quite acceptable, the background landscapes are skilfully chosen, the images of water are quite gripping and there are some nice comic episodes.«
