Film star Daniel has a perfect life: he is successful, wealthy and has a chic apartment in Prenzlauer Berg. On the way to an audition, he calls in at his favourite bar where he meets Bruno. This stranger not only knows all the actor’s films, he also knows a shocking amount about Daniel’s private life. An ironic and cynical duel of words develops between these unequal men and soon Daniel isn’t just amazed by his neighbour, he’s scared of him.
In his directing debut, Daniel Brühl ironically pokes fun at himself as an actor from the brave new world of success. His congenial opposite number is Peter Kurth as the »Ossi« who has been left behind, Bruno. A subtle, darkly humorous chamber play about gentrification, social injustice and the lies people tell themselves.
