With LIVE-MUSIC by Ekkehard Wölk (Piano)
The familiar fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm is turned into a highly imaginative film version here by Wilhelm Prager, who pioneered the genre of the film fairy tale. A table that lays itself, a donkey that sh*ts gold coins and a cudgel that beats itself provide the opportunity for a number of jaunty film tricks and comic interludes that will still delight today’s young film audiences. Because this film is silent, young members of the audience are welcome to comment, shout out and laugh as much as they like! After the screening, there will be a chance for youngsters to see behind the scenes, visit the projection room and even be given a snippet of real film to take home.
The supporting film is:
