Sabin Tambrea presents his novel “Fatherlands”, which was published in summer 2024. Following his debut novel “Nachtleben” (Nightlife), which made it onto the Spiegel bestseller list, this new novel tells the story of Tambrea’s Romanian/ Hungarian family through the eyes of three generations: the young Sabin, his father Bela and his grandfather Horea. It is a moving work about new beginnings, deprivation and the fight against a ruthless political system; about injustice, portentous decisions and his parents’ tender love story. The event will be accompanied by the wonderful Guadagnini Trio – Alina Armonas-Tambrea (the author’s sister), Edvardas Armonas and Yannick van de Velde – that provides a musical frame to this touching story. Sabin Tambrea, born in Târgu Mureș, Romania in 1984, began his artistic career as a musician before turning to acting. He is now regarded as one of the most talented and sought-after actors of his generation. He has appeared in numerous films and TV productions, including “Ku’damm”, “Babylon Berlin” and, most recently, “The Glory of Life”. The author will himself be reading extracts from his new novel, telling his story and signing copies for members of the audience. The event is being organised in co-operation with the City of Apolda.
