“It has been done!” – such was the unanimous verdict on the Everest expedition by George Mallory and Andrew Irvine in 1924, which ended in the deaths of the two brilliant mountaineers. Shot under extreme conditions, the film is early testimony to the epic beauty of Tibet that also reveals the bleakness of being secluded from civilisation.
