Under the title »Die Welt spricht Klang«, the ensemble klangwerk am bauhaus translates the signs of the times into sounding language. In two concerts, it addresses translation and thus understanding in the celebration of art and, by combining concert, discussion and analysis, moves into an interactive, multimedia concert format that questions and contextualizes traditional performances of music. The interweaving of sound, words, images and film make each concert a new link between the arts, in which kaleidoscopic new perspectives on sound, word and image constantly emerge. How do words sound without language? How are images translated into sound? What are the possibilities and limits of translation? Language and sound in dialogue. Two concerts with different accents, but all with the ear directed towards understanding the world. One focus is on the cultural critic, philosopher, man of letters and translator Walter Benjamin, whose 130th birthday will be celebrated in 2022. Intersections with the Klassik Stiftung Weimar‘s annual project on »Language as Event - Translating the World. Contemporary Perspectives on Walter Benjamin« will be explored.
