Performative concert between the Baroque era and today

British rising star soprano Mimi Doulton meets Bach, Baroque arias and the sounds of the Ottoman Empire: NEOFILIA is a musical crossover experience that brings together the past and present, East and West.
The starting point is the Baroque aria – touching, virtuosic, deeply human. Works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Silvius Leopold Weiß and the Ottoman composer Dimitrie Cantemir meet new music by Fatima Kahraman, among others, which tells of today's perspectives on the foreign, the other, the new. In this encounter, songs about longing, projection, love and alienation unfold – musically multilingual and stylistically permeable.
NEOFILIA is conceived as a performative promenade concert in which the impressive dancer Ichi Go leads the audience in and around the Schießhaus. Under the artistic and musical direction of Marc Sinan, together with the Marc Sinan Company, an ensemble for contemporary music and sonic border crossings, and Mimi Doulton, an impressive concert format emerges between early music, digital sound art and ritual performance.
