An anarchic and sticky dance piece for young and evergreen dance fans.
In a stage space that emerges in real time during the course of the performance, this production celebrates an unusual material: adhesive tape, which the French call “scotch” and the Germans “Tesa.” After fleeing a potentially totalitarian regime, the three musicians of a feminist rock group build a new participatory living space on the stage of their exile: they unroll the tape and follow it, tracing graphic lines and marking out spaces in a circular layout. Unpredictable and incon- sistent, the tape even covers the performers’ bodies, revealing an invisible web of relationships. They cre- ate cabins virtually out of nothing and play with their physicality as dancers, puppeteers, actors and com- posers. After touring extensively through France, East and South East Europe and Canada, »Scoooootch!« now receives its German premiere.
