On 11 July, Katharina Germo, co-artistic director of the Kunstfest Weimar, was featured on the programme → »MDR KULTUR trifft…« with presenter Carsten Tesch. Alongside offering fascinating insights into her personal career – from her hometown of Halle, through her formative years in theatre in Switzerland, to her new role in Weimar – Katharina Germo presents some of the highlights we can look forward to at the Kunstfest from 21 August onwards.
On the opening day, 21 August, the Apolda Festwiese will host the European premiere of Masamitsu Araki’s extraordinary concert project → »Soundtrack for Midnight TAMURO«, which brings together the Thuringian car-tuning scene to create a »motorised orchestra«.
And new this year: the → festival centre at the Lichthaus, where audiences, artists and anyone else interested can meet for a drink and relax in a laid-back atmosphere. A free cultural programme featuring workshops, concerts, exhibitions, talks and hands-on activities offers opportunities for unexpected encounters.
